Tree Removal
While tree removal may be a drastic step, there are circumstances when it is necessary. Removal is essential when a tree is dead or dying, considered hazardous, causing an obstruction that cannot be corrected through pruning, crowding or causing harm to surrounding trees or is being replaced for something more desirable. Our experienced crew safely and professionally remove large and small trees using state of the art equipment and expert skill. We will carfully determine the condition of your tree and recommend the proper action to ensure your safety and the health of the tree.
Once a tree has been removed, we will cut up, chip or haul off all debris leaving your property clean and safe.

Corrective & Ornamental Pruning
One of our main objectives at Wind Thin is to promote proper pruning techniques. It is essential to prune trees when they are young to train them to grow properly and resist structural defects. Unfortunately, many trees are simply overlooked and are left to grow wild. Many of these trees develop weak limbs and are often damaged from wind and storms. Corrective pruning allows for these tress to continue growing safely and efficiently by removing dead or damaged limbs and improving the structural integrity of the tree.
Ornamental pruning is used to enhance the health and beauty of your trees. Keeping aesthetics in mind, we will remove extra limbs and foliage to reveal the structure of the tree. We allow extra time to asess the indiviual needs of the customer and of the tree. We will work with the customer to carefully consider the desired outcome.
Stump Grinding
Stump grinding is the most efficient way of removing unwanted stumps from your property. It works like a chipper at ground level. We make passes with the machine until the stump is ground 4-12 inches below the surface. The depth of the grind depends or the home owner's need and the health of surrounding trees and shrubs. You are left with a controlled pile of dirt and small chips. This can easily be removed and replaced with sod or fill dirt and replanted.
Cabling & Bracing
Cabeling and bracing techniques are used to increase safety in weak or damaged trees and, ideally, prolong the life of the tree. Trees and brances subject to cabeling and bracing are those that pose a threat to people or property. The hardware and procedures involved in proper installation are usaually expensive and time consuming, so they are generally reserved for high-value trees only.

Free Wood chips
Wood chips are delivered to our customers at no charge. Chips are delivered when a crew is working in your area and are available in full loads only. To recieve chips please call (503) 481-4628 to be added to our list or if we are working in your area, feel free to ask at the job sight.
Topping
Topping is perhaps the most harmful tree pruning practice known. Yet, despite ore than 25 years or literature and seminars explaining its harmful effects, topping remains a common practice. Wind Thin feels strongly that topping is not an acceptable pruning technique and would like the opportunity to offer our clients a better alternative.
